I'm George Gourley — a tech recruiter who does this full-time, all day, every day. My focus is exclusively on software engineers: full-stack, AI/ML, backend, and infrastructure talent across the DACH region and US.
I'm not a generalist. I don't recruit accountants or PAs. I live in this one corner of the market, which means I know which companies are genuinely great to work for, what the real salary ranges look like, and where the best engineers are actually looking.

Yes. I work with companies hiring remotely from anywhere in Europe and the US, as long as the role is relevant to software engineers — full-stack, AI/ML, backend, infrastructure. My candidate network spans both regions, so if you're a US company hiring European talent (or vice versa), that's a good fit. The key is that the role needs to appeal to the kind of engineers I work with every day.
It depends on the seniority and specialisation of the role. For mid-level positions with a reasonable salary and a defined stack, I can often present qualified candidates within 1–2 weeks. Senior or niche roles — Staff engineers, AI research leads, very specific infrastructure skill sets — typically take 3–5 weeks for a strong shortlist. If your salary range or hiring process is making you uncompetitive, I'll tell you that early rather than waste both our time.
